About Scott Clyve

For nearly four decades, Scott Clyve's lighting and production designs have been seen on Broadway, Off Broadway, regionally across the country, and internationally, from intimate black box theaters to televised events watched by millions.

Scott's most prominent work includes lighting Pope Francis' 2016 visit to Philadelphia, spanning his address at Independence Hall, his stop at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, and his airport arrival and departure, along with a consult on the Popemobile's lighting. He also served as lighting designer for President Barack Obama's White House Frontiers Conference in Pittsburgh.

On television and live broadcast, Scott has designed for NBC's World Championships of Figure Skating and CBS specials including The Morning Show and Celebrating 250 Years. He has served as lighting or production designer for more than 200 live broadcast productions for the streaming service Tidal X, working with artists including Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Emeli Sandé, Rascal Flatts, and Lil Wayne, plus the Tidal X series #CRWN, hosted by Elliot Wilson, with guests such as Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Jennifer Lopez, Lil Wayne, and The Roots.

His theatrical roots run through Broadway credits including The Gathering and Your Arms Too Short to Box with God, plus Off Broadway work including Syndrome, Teresa's Ecstasy, and A Winter's Tale. He spent eight years as resident designer at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and his opera credits include multiple productions with Syracuse Opera.

In Boston, Scott's credits include Express Yourself at the Wang Theatre, Urban Nutcracker for 17 seasons at the Shubert Theater, Evening with Champions (an ice skating extravaganza), and City Spotlights. His dance work also spans the Eglevski Ballet and the New York City Dance Alliance Finale at the Waldorf Astoria.

Scott's corporate and installation work includes galas, inaugural events, and stockholder dinners for clients such as Chase Manhattan Bank, Swiss Re, and Canon, as well as permanent lighting installations at venues including the Tarrytown Music Hall and the Armory Center in Albany.

Scott has taught at Boston College and is a graduate of Purchase College at S.U.N.Y.
